Nunes Earns $1 Million at the

FINDLAY, OHIO, OCTOBER 25, 2010 – COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE: CTB) is the official tire of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) and sponsor of cowboy and Brazilian native Renato Nunes. Cooper Tire congratulates Nunes who rode his way to victory as PBR’s World Champion, taking home a $1 million check and championship gold buckle from the PBR this past weekend at the World Finals in Las Vegas.

“Cooper Tire is thrilled, not only to support Renato’s ride to the World Finals, but to be a part of his first World Championship title,” said Chris Pantani, Cooper Tire director of motorsport and business development. “He is a tough athlete, strong competitor and great addition to the Cooper team.”

Nunes has been in a battle for the top position all season. Consistently ranking among the top, he earned a total score of 13,960 points, ending each ride with a triumphant back flip. “I’m proud to be sponsored by Cooper Tire,” Nunes said, “It’s amazing to have that kind of support throughout the season, so I can concentrate on my ride.”

Entering and winning his first at the age of 13, Nunes found his passion for bull riding early. Native to Buritama, Sao Paulo, he took Brazil by storm, noting a car as his most memorable prize. Entering the Pro Bull Riding circuit in 2005, the rider soon logged two Built Ford Tough Series wins in 2007. Nunes also rode the 2007 PBR World Champion bull, Chicken on a Chain in St. Louis, for 95.75 points, one of the top scores in PBR history. Joining the Cooper Tire team in 2010, Nunes’ became only the second man in PBR history to win both the World Finals event and the world title in the same season. His energy and celebratory back flips after making the eight-second whistle make him easily recognizable and a competitor worth watching.

Joining PBR as a sponsor in 2008, Cooper Tire supports five cowboys, including Robson Palermo, who claimed the No. 6 position of the 2010 Final Built Ford Tough standings, Wiley Petersen (No. 14), Skeeter Kingsolver (No. 15), Zack Brown (No. 45), in addition to five presented-by events and one title event throughout the season.
