The Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association was established in 1994 in Archdale, North Carolina.
According to Humps N Horns magazine it is one of the oldest continuously operated bull riding associations in existence.
SEBRA, although little known outside of the bull riding world; is a solid organization. Its members have held championship titles at every level of rodeo from professional to high school.
SEBRA was founded on the principle that quality is more important than quantity. The focus of the founding management was to provide an organization were cowboys could compete on fair ground against honest bucking bulls.
Annual profits from the organization are put back into producing the finals. Only top stock contractors and producers are selected to sanction SEBRA events. The professionalism of the productions can be seen in the selection of the contract acts, the quality of the bull fighters and in the efficiency of the back-pen operations.
New management promises to maintain these principles, but also plans to provide a platform that will allow the association to grow; by promoting the SEBRA name, the members, the contractors and the sponsors will benefit.
