At his first BFTS event in Grand Rapids, Mich., Travis Briscoe faced an unforeseen obstacle before entering the arena. The airline lost my bags so I had to hunt down a vest, chaps, glove, and bull rope. Fortunately, I had used Chris Shivers bull rope before, and I knew it felt good. So, Chris let me borrow it again. The challenge didnt faze the then-rookie who finished third place overall, covering all three bulls and clearing nearly 000. A four-time qualifier for the PBR World Finals, Briscoe has collected five career event wins including the 2009 Genuity Invitational in Des Moines, Ia. He says his most memorable ride to date came aboard three-time Bull of the Year Little Yellow Jacket of Berger/Teague and Taupin Bucking Bulls in Columbus in October 2005. I had watched that bull buck on TV for years and always wanted to ride him because I knew he would fit my riding style. I was 92 on him. Im just glad I got to ride him before he retired. Career Earnings: 8288.08

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is excited to announce that the five national captains have selected the first 10 competitors for the 2010 World Cup. The 2010 PBR World Cup presented by Dickies, the PBRs premier international event, comes to the United States for the first time ever. All of the action will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas from April 16-18. Captain JW Hart (Marietta, Okla.) has named Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) and McKennon Wimberly (Cool, Texas) to Team USA, while Adriano Moraes (Cachoeiera Paulista, SP, Brazil) has chosen Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO, Brazil) and Robson Palermo (Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil) as the first two members for Team Brazil. Cody Snyder (Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada) has selected Aaron Roy (Asquith, Saskatchewan, Canada) and Scott Schiffner (Strathmore, Alberta, Canada) for Team Canada, while Team Australia captain Troy Dunn (Queensland, Australia) has named brothers Jared and Pete Farley (Kempsey, NSW, Australia). The first two members selected for Team Mexico are Rocky McDonald (Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico) and Gustavo Pedrero (Jalisco, Mexico). Selections for Mexico are being made by Amando Aguirre, President of the Mexican Federation of Rodeo, and Ruben Mujica, President of Cuernos Chuecos, a Mexican bull riding league.
